Where the Spirit of the Lord Is

Written by on July 2, 2014

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
(2 Cor. 3:17, NIV)

Fireworks over the Willamette River. A flag appears in the cascading sparks.

~ As passion-hearted disciples of Christ, we follow after a loving God who continuously declares freedom over us. Our Father doesn’t chain us to legalistic rules. He sets us free to love as He loves.

~ Jesus, our co-heir, doesn’t coerce us into matching achievements of anyone else. Rather, He releases us to express explosive growth in terms of unique creativity, true to our individual DNA.

~ The Holy Spirit in us lights a strike-anywhere match, fans the flame, and sends us out to multiply it.

In what part of your community is the Holy Spirit using you to ignite a liberating flame?

“He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,” Isaiah 61:1
What a mighty God we serve.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.” 1 John 2:20-21

I have been called to The Church to declare God’s truth, and draw them near to His heart.
    Praise His Holy Name!

Rebecca, beautiful. Even those of us who’ve been members of the Body of Christ for years need reminders of God’s Truth. Watch God work, indeed!

Good thoughts, Lynn. I’m amazed at the ways our Lord leads me to people who need a touch of peace, a prayer, an encouragement, etc. Yes, He is mighty and wonderful. Thanks for this reminder.
