After church at Bethesda one Sunday, the Holy Spirit prompted me to give a prophetic word to the pleasant young man I’ll call Andrew who sat beside me. As I spoke to him, it became increasingly clear that he was blessing me. Andrew described his pursuit of a relationship with a doctor he worked for, and its remarkable fruit.
Listen to Andrew’s story in this 8-minute podcast:
Whoa! Talk about possibilities! Here are a few thoughts he concluded with:
“I see fruit on the tree starting to show. It blows me away. I was going to do everything. Now I’m involved with someone who already has an established business that I’ll be a part owner in.
“A theme for me is always grace—having grace in ungracious situations. I’ve had a lot of times of anger, and argument, and really, honestly, hatred in my life. God put something in my mind that I put on Facebook: Meeting hostility with grace will bring peace to a home, and warmth to a heart once cold. That’s been resonating the last couple of weeks. Peace. Grace. Kindness.
“I’ve always been stoic. I’ve been the guy who didn’t reach out to people. Especially the last couple of months, and years, God is molding me into someone with more of a leadership mentality, who reaches out to people and speaks into people’s lives. I thank God every day for how He is molding me to be a better person for the Lord.
“Don’t be afraid to plan. Planning is good. But understand that what you plan may not necessarily be what God’s planning. I’ve noticed a theme as my plans have changed through the years.
“At first, it started out that I was going to be a personal trainer and massage therapist that owned his own business. Then I was going to run a gym. Then I was going to run a clinic. Then a mobile service. Then this and that. There has always been a theme: that which I was passionate about.
“Don’t be afraid to go after your passion. But understand also that your passion may not be what God has in store for you. He will use that passion within your life to cultivate stronger relationships and your career ultimately in life.”
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21)
