Spiritual parallels. You see them everywhere. In a rosebud. The foundation of a home being built. A flea on the ceiling. A baseball diamond. A diamond as big as a baseball.
I’m adding a new feature to my blog called The 45th Parallel. These weekly posts will feature photos of everyday sights we encounter and their spiritual parallels.
Why the forty-fifth? Because Portland, Oregon, home of yours truly, is situated on this imaginary geographic indicator. But don’t go looking for it. Trust me, somebody made it up. I spent the first three years after I moved here from Delaware trying to track it down. Who’d have figured some cartographer drew it on the globe with a Sharpie marker? Not necessarily intuitive, if you know what I mean.
The 45th Parallel is a series which explores spiritual parallels in everyday sights. I invite you to email a photo you’ve taken and tell how it illustrates overcoming; forgiving; encouraging; or our relationship with God. It may be featured in an upcoming blog post!
In a few months, this site will host the first annual 45th Parallel Photo Contest. Details to follow.
In what way does a globe demonstrate the presence of God?
