They call me Bird Dog.
I explore areas in my town, eager to bring back a bird to drop at my master’s feet. I open doors and scramble up stairwells, and find those who need help. In the process, I seek one thing: to further the Kingdom of God.
Recently, in Troutdale, I was out making cold calls for our software business. I dropped in at the office of a company, La Hacienda, and struck up a conversation with an older Mexican couple there. As we spoke about our businesses, I asked them how I might pray.
We prayed together for one another’s families and businesses. We sought God paths for the next generation. Carlos grinned as he spoke of his love for God. Bertha filled a bag with jelly and tea and sent me on my way.
A couple of weeks later, at their invitation, I returned with Tim, and we gave a demo of our software. I shared words of optimism and hope for the family: a spirit of multiplication; angels in company trucks, and God’s expansion. We prayed and gave hugs all around.
They sent us home with our first signed contract and a check for a down payment on a system.
Do we need to worry about what we’ll eat, drink, or wear? Nope. We’re seeking the Kingdom of God, and all the rest is being added to us, in God’s timing.
Woof – arooo!
What is one thing you can do today to advance Kingdom culture in your circle of influence?
