I had an exhilarating week at the Oregon Christian Writers Conference in Portland August 12-15. Among the talented professionals I had the privilege of joining was senior editor of Harvest House Publishers, Nick Harrison. In addition to his editorial work, Nick is a top-shelf writer of several powerful books.
At the conference, I picked up Nick’s books Magnificent Prayer (366 brilliant devotions) and Survival Guide for New Dads: Two Minute Devotions For Successful Fatherhood, which I picked up for soon-to-be-new-dad, Ben.
Friend, God’s writing your story one chapter at a time—a novel of adventure unfolding before your very eyes. Do you ever wonder what comes next? I do!
I asked Nick Harrison, “If life is like a book, how do you frame the chapters of yesterday, today, and tomorrow?”
Nick said, “I frame them in the promises of God. I just finished a book called Power in the Promises. I believe that anybody can come through life triumphantly no matter what—as long as they’re armed with the promises of God, they believe the promises of God, and they live the promises of God.
“Then you’re sure of a happy ending to your life, no matter what comes.”
Friend, let’s look ahead with expectancy as we stake claims for those we serve in our homes and businesses. Join us in looking to the promise found in Philippians 4:19 (ESV) which says, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” A major-league increase is on its way for you and me. Can you feel the floorboards rumbling?
Power in the Promises will be released January 2014. This highly practical and biblical book is accessible and helpful to all who are seeking God’s wisdom and truth for their life. Over 100 relevant subjects, dealing with nearly every emotional and life need, are addressed on one to two pages. Click here to see books available by Nick Harrison.
Friend, which of God’s promises are you focused on today? How do they frame your next chapter?
