Go lay an egg

Written by on December 5, 2012

My mentor at Toastmasters, Marc Bettinger, caught wind of the remark I made last week that I laid an egg. Marc shot off an email to me:

“Wow friend,

Did God really give you the ability to lay eggs? If so, you must believe they’re golden. [Apparently hares can do all kinds of magic!] Or perhaps you’re color blind on occasion.

As for me, I’ll settle for nothing less than ‘dropping bombs’ that ultimately evaporate when I see past the fears and let go of ‘no.’ Saying ‘yes’ to God is always the shortcut to His peace.”

Thanks, Marc!

Sometimes when we think we’ve done our worst, we find we’ve done it brilliantly. It was golden all along. Honk, honk, honk.

Friends, what’s happened to you recently to turn your eggs gold?

Good post, Lynn! As always. I don’t know about eggs that have turned golden, but our Lord does that all the time for me. He’s so good to us. Thanks for reminding me that he can turn mistakes around.

I love his quote that saying yes to God is the shortcut to peace. How true. How often I debate, mull things over in my head, instead of an instant “Yes” to God.

Susan, I do that, too. Turn things over & over in my mind, sometimes, instead of keeping it to a simple yes. Why complicate things?
