Do you ever wish the clock would hurry to move its gears a bit quicker? We turned our clocks ahead last weekend. That’s one way to hurry things up!

But what happens when your dreams and God-given promises take for-ever?

That’s what I asked myself for five years as I wrote a book. Five. Long. Years.

Every time someone asked, “When is your book going to be done?” I choked up—not Holy Spirit goose bump tears, but rather crocodile tears (there’s that nasty croc again! Grrr!).

I thought, “I have no idea. I’m in slow motion. I got lost in the weeds so many times, I’m sure I delayed His plan. What’s taking so long?”

The question was met with silence

But then I prayed and took a fresh look. This morning I woke up with a Holy Spirit word for you, precious friends!

The Lord is saying, “It will be 5 years from beginning to completion of fulfilling My dream for you in this.”

Maybe you’re not a writer. Maybe you have something totally different in mind. I’m excited!

5 a very good number.

Think about it.

5 is mentioned 318 times in the Bible.

5 is the Biblical number for grace.

David scooped up 5 stones to slay Goliath.

We have 5 senses (though they can perceive only about 5% of all that exists).

Moses etched two tablets, each with 5 commandments from the Lord. The first 5 are about our relationship with God. The second 5 are about our relationship with others.

And one of my favorite verses about the Lion of Judah is found in Revelation 5:5:

“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.”

Friend, the Lion of Judah runs swiftly beside you on a 5-year course. He’s roaring, mane thrown back, warrior teeth bared in violent joy. His roars rumble from deep within.  He decrees your triumph TODAY.

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised” (Hebrews 10:35, 36).

Friend, what is your dream? What is God partnering with you to complete in 5 years?

I’m pleased to announce that my new book The Quest for Self-Forgiveness is released today!
